On our last day at Antelope park Josh and I woke up early to head into the stage two lion enclosure with the researcher. We set off to find the pride of lions who have been released into a 500 acre enclosure and have started their own pride. A photographer from animal planet joined us. He is working on an upcoming documentary about the lions here. We had amazing luck! When were driving through the park, he noticed one of the Zebras seemed to be missing. Sure enough, when we found the pride they had just made a fresh kill! The male lion was chomping away on that Zebra! We even watched as he dragged the carcass into the shade before allowing the young cubs to eat! The researcher was thrilled and said this was the absolute best a lion encounter could get.
