The night train from Delhi to Jaisalmer was fantastic! One thing I am enjoying about India is being able to talk to the people. On the train, I ended up sleeping in a little area with some locals who were so friendly, we had an excellent time together! There was a young man named Sundeep who was on his way to his first job away from home. He had a huge meal that his Mom had packed for him and he offered to share with us and let us taste it. He also introduced us to some punjabi music, and made sure our bags were chained up tight after somebody came by telling us to be extra vigilant with our belongings.
Sometime after falling asleep more people got on the train. I woke up to a beautiful young girl staring at me intently. Every time I glanced her direction she was smiling at me. When morning came and I got up, she immediately asked me "where do you belong to?" then smiled enthusiastically and welcomed me to India. Iris was heading to a table tennis competition. She wanted to know all about Canada and was excited to let us listen to her Bollywood music! So, all in all it was a very good train ride! The only pictures I got of these train friends are blurry...
