Leaving Hoi An

Today we went back to the tailor and got our boxes shipped home to Canada! I am happy with my purchases but did spend too much money! Last night we had a major miscommunication at the hotel. They told us we had paid for an tea Sefer to the train station and en a few hours later said it was extra. The hotel staff refused to let us speak to a manager and wanted us to wait and talk to the original lady (Maria) who had helped us with the train tickets who would be back at work this morning! We thought we were being double charged and were very upset about this. Amanda wrote a review on trip advisor about the situation and the negative attitude of the staff who refused to help solve the problem. This morning we talked with Maria and sorted out the problem. She was very helpful and efficient. In the early afternoon, Maria came to me with in an absolute panic. I could tell by the look in here eyes that she was about to cry. She explained that the hotel manager ( who refused to help us the evening before) was going to fire her for the bad review if she couldn't make us take the review off line. Now poor Maria was never the problem.... She is pregnant and works two jobs and really can't afford any mistakes. Needless to say we felt horrible! People don't get fired over such minor issues at home. Well, Amanda and Danielle went to the shift manager and made it clear that if anything happens to Maria the bad review will go viral! We gave the girl our contact address and told us to email If she gets fired so we can follow through. In my opinion nobody should stay here, simp,y because they treat their staff so poorly. Lesson learned, think about how your words will effect others. I will never forget the fear in her eyes. Sorry Maria! In the end, things seem to have worked out for her and she hugged us and thanked us!
